January/February 2014
Dear Friends of Grace,
January was designated Mission month; therefore our emphasis was on Missions. Our emphasis on Missions began with Dr. Russell Bell preaching on missions Sunday morning and evening the very first Sunday of January 2014. We also had a building dedication service for our Bible Workshop Building. Dr. Bell did a wonderful job. Speaking of our Bible Workshop Building, we just completed 5,000 John/Romans NT for Evangelist Jimmie Clark. We are working on another 5,000 for Missionary John Caudle. We are excited to see God using us in this ministry.
Later in January we had Dr. John Halsey come and preach our Missions Conference. As always, he did a spectacular job! Our hearts were stirred with practical Bible preaching regarding missions and the support thereof.
The very last Monday of the month we met with the A.C.E. regional director for our area concerning the start of a school with a missions emphasis. There are many things that need to be worked out, but we have committed to get started and we are waiting to see how the Lord is going to lead.
February was a cold and snowy month for us North Carolinians. For us it was most unusual, but praise God Spring is on the way. On Saturday night the 8th we celebrated with a Sweetheart Banquet. One of our deacons, Allen Harrell, spoke and challenged our hearts to love our wives. Brother Allen did a great job. Allow me to say how much I appreciate and am thankful for my wife of 33 years, Tammie, who has helped me be able to stay in the ministry. She is a loving wife, mother and grandmother who encourages me every day. Another of our deacons, Brother John Kemp, provided the meal and activities. As always, it was a wonderful time for which we are thankful.
Ambassador College was with us the last Sunday morning of the month. Their singing and preaching greatly encouraged our people. What a wonderful group of young people who really love the Lord.
One last thing I would like to mention and ask you to pray with us about concerns our updating of our Church’s Bylaws. Everything has and is going well, but it has been over 25 years as you well know. We are having to spell out things like ‘Trans-gender’, ‘Marriage’, ‘Membership’, etc. We believe King Jesus is coming soon. Again, allow me to say how much we appreciate your prayers and love toward us. We are praying for you. We love you.
