May/June 2013
Dear Friends of Grace,
Summer has officially arrived in North Carolina as evidenced by heat, humidity, and high winds. Though the weather has been rough (a tornado touched down less than 5 miles from our church), God has been good to protect us and see us through.
The month of May brought to us Dr. Bruce Miller and the girls from the college. He preached here in Louisburg and also for Tucker at our church plant in Nashville, NC. What a tremendous preacher! He always gives you some ‘meat’ and challenges your heart to be closer to God. The girls singing this year were outstanding and another blessing to see these young girls who love the Lord.
We had one to graduate from high school, complete with our own Homeschool Graduation service for Miss Charity Martin. That was a wonderful service. Congratulations again Miss Charity.
May also was the month we were able to get into what we are calling our ‘Bible Workshop Building’. Brother Greg Hatfield, our custodian, was able to build us a 20 x 24 building for the sole purpose of assembling Scriptures. Thus far, several thousand John and Romans have been assembled. As a matter of fact, our teens are going to Georgia in July to help a new church plant with about four thousand John/Romans. They will be gone for a week. Please pray for God to use them. Many in the church have volunteered to help put together these Scriptures, which is a real blessing to our church.
I appreciated our church giving me a few days off for vacation. I took about 10 days on a motorcycle trip. While I was gone, Tucker filled in for me, along with Brother Brandon Welch and Brother Robert Evans.
Pastor Bobby Murrell in Spring Hope, NC had me to preach Monday night of his Revival meeting. Excellent Spirit in that church. We love Brother Murrell and ask that you pray for him and his wife, Mrs. Jennette. Both are struggling with some health issues. I think Brother Bobby has been at Good News Baptist Church for close to thirty years.
Camp Grace was our biggest event in the month of June. About 40 first through sixth grade children, along with several teens and adults, had us feeding close to 65 people all week. It was GREAT! The Lord spoke to hearts about Missions, which is the theme of the camp. Brothers Rom Ribeiro, John Caudle, Evan Francis, Wayne Tucker, and Robert Meyer (all missionaries) were able to challenge our children and preach in our nightly Missions Revival. Continue to pray with us that God would send Missionaries out of this church for His Work. Our Camp Grace theme verse is Matthew 9:37-38. Several children said they surrendered to whatever God would call them to do. Who knows, maybe one of ours may join YOU on the Mission Field.
We love and pray for you often. Please let’s continue to keep each other before the Lord in what must be the ‘Last Days’. Amen
